A Dream Made Real Through Whole-Person Care

Siloam Health has been Gio’s medical home for 23 years, and he still remembers the stranger who led him there:
“We had just moved to Nashville, my twins were toddlers, and we were at the laundromat. A lady came to us and asked if we had medical attention. When I told her no, she said, ‘I know a clinic. It’s a little one, but very good doctors. Go right now.’ I still call that lady my angel for telling me about Siloam.”
In the decades that followed, life brought many challenges for Gio. A serious accident left him with lasting health complications — blood clots, a pulmonary embolism, chronic pain — and sent him to the emergency room more times than he can count. But through it all, he says, Siloam has been the constant: a team that knows his name, knows his history, and meets him with the same care and attention every time he steps through the doors.

“This clinic is a beautiful institution. The front desk, the doctors, the nurses — everybody here supported me through the adversity. Without this clinic, I would have been in the cemetery years ago.”
At Siloam, Gio says he’s found a lifeline of care that has extended to his entire family. In fact, when his youngest son received a scholarship to Vanderbilt University, Gio brought the acceptance letter to show his doctor.

On June 1st Siloam celebrated Global Coptic Day! We honored our Coptic Christian co-workers and neighbors, and the faith and rich heritage of the Coptic Orthodox Church.
Nashville is a place of refuge for Coptic Christians fleeing persecution in Egypt, and Siloam is privileged to serve this vibrant community. In fact, Egypt remains one of the top countries of origin among our patients. Coptic friends, we are grateful for the ways your presence and faith enrich our lives.

Volunteer Spotlight: Nima Bahri
|

|
Clinic Support Volunteer Nima Bahri serves with Siloam for a simple reason, saying "I really believe in Siloam Health's mission to help those in need."
That belief shows up in how he approaches every shift. For Nima, "volunteering at Siloam is about more than just the tasks at hand." He loves the atmosphere and the chance to see the behind-the-scenes of a working clinic. As a clinic support volunteer, he keeps rooms stocked and cleaned and organizes medication in the pharmacy so staff can focus fully on the neighbors in front of them. Each shift teaches him something new as he learns how the clinic operates.
What he carries with him goes beyond those skills, though. Nima believes "the most lasting impact comes from the relationships formed with patients and staff," and he cherishes the conversations and memories that linger long after each shift ends. That spirit reflects something central to Siloam: people from every background, across cultures, religions, and languages, find themselves genuinely at home here.
